While rumors abound that the First Time Home buyer Tax Credit will be extended in 2010, don't expect confirmation one way or the other any time soon. The reality is that our law makers won't have a clear tally about just how many FTHB took advantage of the credit until the IRS presents them with the bill after April 15Th when most tax payers have filed their '09 returns. Nor can you assume the credit will remain the same if it is extended as the bill has had three separate revisions since it's initial roll out with H.E.R.A in late march of 2008. Any first time home buyers that are actively out shopping still have a chance to take advantage of the credit if they close on their home before the end of November, so get out there and happy selling!
